Funnel & Conversion Architecture
Rebuilding the path from first click to signed customer so each step has one job, and the measurement to know which step is losing you money.
Overview
A funnel is a sequence of small agreements. Someone agrees to read, then to give an email, then to take a call. Conversion collapses when a step asks for more than it has earned, or asks for the same thing twice.
We map the current path, find where the ask outruns the trust, and rebuild those steps. Often the biggest gain comes from removing a stage rather than optimising it.
Who this is for
- Companies with healthy traffic and disappointing enquiries
- Teams running paid media into pages that were never designed to convert
- Businesses with a long sales cycle and no middle of the funnel
How we approach funnel & conversion architecture
The specific pieces of work a typical engagement covers. Scope is agreed up front — nothing here is a surprise line item later.
Funnel audit
Every step from ad to close, with the drop-off at each. Frequently the first time the whole path has been looked at as one thing.
Offer and step design
What you ask for at each stage and what you give for it. The exchange has to feel fair at the point it is made.
Landing page architecture
Page structure, message match against the ad, and the form. Small changes to form fields routinely move conversion double digits.
Lead qualification
Sorting genuine intent from curiosity before it reaches sales, so the team spends its hours on the enquiries worth having.
Nurture paths
What happens to the majority who are interested but not ready. Usually nothing, which is where most of the waste sits.
Tracking and attribution
Measurement that survives privacy changes, so the conversion numbers you optimise against are actually true.
From first call to measured result
The same sequence every time, so you always know what happens next.
Measure
Instrument the existing funnel properly. You cannot fix a step you cannot see, and most funnels have blind stages.
Diagnose
Find the steps losing the most value, with session recordings and form analytics to show why rather than just where.
Rebuild
Redesign the worst steps first. Ship them as tests where volume allows and as straight replacements where it does not.
Iterate
A running experiment queue against the next constraint, with results reviewed on a fixed cadence.
Outcomes, not deliverables
A pile of artefacts isn't progress. These are the changes the work is meant to produce — and what we report against.
More from the same traffic
Conversion gains apply to every visitor you already pay for, which is why this usually beats buying more media.
Better leads, not just more
Qualification early means the sales team's time goes to enquiries that can actually close.
Numbers you can trust
Tracking fixed first, so later decisions rest on real data rather than on a broken conversion tag.
Fewer wasted steps
Removing a stage is often the highest return change available, and nobody suggests it without the data.
Common questions about Funnel & Conversion Architecture
The things people ask before they get in touch. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
How much traffic do we need for this to work?
For statistically valid testing, a few hundred conversions a month per variant. Below that we still improve the funnel, we just do it through analysis and best practice rather than split testing, and we say so plainly.
Is this the same as conversion rate optimisation?
CRO usually means testing within existing pages. This includes the structure itself: which steps exist, in what order, and whether some should be deleted.
How quickly do we see improvement?
Measurement fixes and obvious friction removal often land in the first month. Structural changes take a quarter to prove properly.
Do you build the pages or just advise?
Either. We can hand your team a specification, or design and build the pages ourselves. Most clients want the first funnel built with them and the rest handed over.
