A short, structured engagement to work out what the actual problem is, and what to do about it, before committing to a large programme of work.
معرفی
Large projects usually fail at the beginning, quietly, by solving a problem that was assumed rather than examined. By the time that surfaces, a lot of money has been committed to the wrong thing.
Discovery is a small, fixed piece of work that tests the problem before you fund the solution. It ends with a scope, a cost and a recommendation, including the recommendation not to proceed if that is what the evidence says.

Stakeholder interviews
Individually rather than in a room. People say different things one to one, and the differences are the useful part.
Problem definition
What is actually wrong, separated from the solution someone has already decided on. Often the whole value of the exercise.
Facilitated workshops
Structured sessions with a decision at the end, run by someone with no stake in which way it goes.
Options and tradeoffs
Two or three routes with honest cost, time and risk for each, including the cheap option nobody wants to propose.
Scope and estimate
A scope specific enough to quote against, with the assumptions and the things explicitly excluded.
Recommendation
What we would do and why. If the answer is that the project should not happen, we say that.

Interview
One to one conversations across the stakeholders and the people who will use whatever gets built.
Synthesise
Where views agree, where they conflict, and what the evidence actually supports. Conflicts get named rather than smoothed.
Workshop
A working session to resolve the open questions and choose a direction, with the decision recorded.
Scope
The chosen direction written up as a scope with cost, timeline, risks and assumptions.

Disagreements surfaced early
Stakeholder conflict found in week two is a manageable problem. Found in month eight it is a crisis.
A scope you can quote against
Specific enough that quotes are comparable, whether you use us for delivery or take it elsewhere.
Permission to stop
A discovery that concludes against the project has saved you far more than it cost.

How long does a discovery take?
Two to four weeks for most projects. It is fixed price and fixed length, because open ended discovery is its own failure mode.
Do we have to use you for the delivery afterwards?
No, and the scope is deliberately written so another supplier could quote from it. We would rather be chosen on the delivery proposal than locked in by the discovery.
What if discovery says the project should not go ahead?
We tell you, with the reasoning. It has happened, and those clients have generally come back for other work.
Can you run a single workshop rather than a full discovery?
Yes, for a specific decision with the right people available. Where the problem itself is unclear, interviews first make the workshop far more productive.
